Seit Juni letzten Jahres wohnen wir nun in einem Häuschen. Es gab zum Einzug eine neue Couch. Doch ein Couchtisch dazu fehlte bislang noch. Mir gefallen naturbelassene Tische sehr gut und so kam ich auf die Idee einen Couchtisch selber zu machen. Ein Holzstamm ließ sich schnell besorgen.
Der Transport war etwas schwieriger, vorallem weil ich den Stamm allein abgeholt hatte. Wie schwer sowas ist… Mit einer improvisierten Rampe aus einem Brett bekam ich ihn dann doch ins Auto. Einen blauen Fleck am Oberschenkel bekam ich außerdem als Souvenir.
Dann fing die harte Arbeit aber erst richtig an. An 2 Tagen befreiten wir den Stamm von der Rinde. Weitere 2 Tage wurde er abgeschliffen und poliert.
Anschließend bekam er insgesamt 5 Schichten spezielles Holzöl zum Versiegeln und damit er widerstandsfähiger und wassergeschützt ist, wenn doch mal was verschüttet wird. Da er noch recht frisch und feucht ist, konnten wir ihn nicht einfach auf den Teppich stellen wie ich eigentlich gerne wollte. So bekam er noch Rollen unten dran.
Fertig! Er gefällt uns richtig gut unser ca. 85 Jahre alter Couchtisch. Jetzt hoffen wir nur, dass er nicht allzu sehr noch reißt, denn aufgrund der Wärme und der schnellen Trocknung wird er wahrscheinlich noch Risse bekommen.
Ein wirklich wunderschöner Baumtisch. Gefällt mir gut. Wo kann man solche Stämme denn kaufen?

Hallo Wendy, ich habe den Stamm von privat bekommen. Frag doch einfach mal bei einem Förster nach oder jemandem, der vielleicht ein Waldstück gepachtet hat zum Brennholz machen. Bei uns in der Gegend gibt es das häufig. Ansonsten sind vielleicht Zimmermänner oder Schreinereien noch ein Ansprechpartner. LG Nathalie
