Mein Chef feierte seinen 60. Geburtstag. Die ganze Abteilung war auch eingeladen. Da sollte es schon ein besonderes Geschenk sein. Nachdem wir Geld zusammengelegt hatten, besorgten wir einen Gutschein von einem tollen Hotel und Restaurant in der Nähe. Aber einfach einen Gutschein übergeben wollten wir auch nicht. Es musste mehr hermachen.
Ich, als Basteltante, erklärte mich bereit mir etwas auszudenken. Im Netz holte ich mir Anregungen und entschied mich für eine Weltkugel aus Styropor. Man muss erwähnen, dass mein Chef sehr gerne reist und zwar nicht nur ein paar Dörfer weiter, sondern auch gerne sehr weit weg. Sein nächstes großes Ziel, das er anpeilt, ist Mexiko. Das sollte die Mexikoflagge auf der Weltkugel verdeutlichen. Da unser gesammeltes Geld leider nicht für Mexiko gereicht hat, gab es eben „nur“ den Ort in der Nähe. 
Außerdem ist er begeisterter Mountenbiker und gerne auch in den Bergen unterwegs. So gab es als Deko rundum auch ein hübsches kleines Fahhrad dazu, das ich im Bastelladen gefunden hatte. 
Die größte Herausforderung war die Weltkugel. Ich hatte im Internet eine Vorlage gefunden, aber nur für eine Kugel mit 10cm Durchmesser. Diese war 20cm und so musste ich die Vorlage mit viel Mühe und Ausprobieren auf die richtige Größe anpassen. Größer fand ich die Weltkugel einfach schöner und zudem kann man diese in der Mitte öffnen und hätte auch ein Geschenk innen verstecken können. Leider war der Hotelgutschein in DIN A4-Größe, sodass wir uns da noch etwas anderes ausdenken mussten. Meine Arbeitskollegin fand die grüne Box, die zum Verstauen des Gutscheins und als angedeutete Wiese perfekt war.
Mit Serviettenkleber klebte ich die Vorlage auf die Styroporkugel. Als Sockel diente eine kleine Plastikschüssel, die ich mit Lack noch dunkel angemalt hatte (pink hätte nicht wirklich gut dazu gepasst). Schlussendlich noch alle Dekoteile mit Heißkleber auf der Box anbringen. Et voilà! Fertig war das gute Stück!
